Cornell Gymnastics Falls Short at Rutgers Quad Meet
Cornell gymnastics competed in a quad meet hosted by Rutgers University with Temple University and Southern Connecticut State University in attendance on Friday. The Red placed third overall in a competitive matchup between the four teams. Cornell finished the meet with an overall third-place score of 193.075. The Scarlet Knights’ 195.725 score was the first-place winner and Temple took second with 194.450. Southern Connecticut State finished fourth at 191.800. On vault, the Red fared well, finishing with an overall team score of 48.550. Gymnastics Narrowly Falls at Brockport Despite Season-High Score on the Uneven Bars
On Feb. 28, Cornell gymnastics fell in a tight match to the State University of New York Brockport by a final score of 192.900 to 192.725. The Red led the all-time series between the two 36-6 before the meet. Previously, at the Empire St. Collegiate meet, Cornell bested Brockport and took first place. In its opening event on the uneven bars, the Red earned a season-high score of 48.175. Junior Morgen Shambo secured a score of 9.675 to lead the Red.
